Rich Vaillant is a C-Suite Life Science finance executive recognized for his strategic leadership, detailed financial and operational acumen, and hands-on approach in growing middle market and large businesses. Rich’s experience across the Life Science sector includes Medical Devices, Biologics CDMO, Physician Clinics executing clinical trials, CRO Services, Analytical Assay Labs and Software solutions supporting CRO and Clinical Trial Execution.

With more than three decades of experience – starting in a Fortune 500 public corporation, then spending the next twenty-five years supporting private equity–backed firms and privately held companies, he has earned a reputation as an executive who is a Strategic / Process-based decision maker.  Rich communicates forward thinking action plans to boards of directors, management teams and external partners to drive execution and EBITDA growth.

Rich has led PE-backed middle market companies to high exit valuations / returns for shareholders for a combined $1.1B in realized gains. His expertise spans the entire investment life cycle, including diligence, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, managing accelerated growth over 3–5-year hold periods, executing complex restructurings and turnarounds, and leading a sale process.

As a CFO/Controller/Investor in a total of eight Life Science businesses, ranging in revenues from $50 K to $4 B, Rich helped drive  growth through multiple paths – M&A execution (18 acquisitions); and organic growth by expanding facilities & capital investment to add complementary market capabilities in Medical Device, Biologics CDMO and Physician Clinics.

Rich holds a BS in Accounting from Merrimack College and an MSA from Suffolk University.
