Alek Mikolajczyk is a strategic financial and operating executive with over 25 years of experience driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and value creation across private equity-backed and publicly traded companies. Alek’s industry experience includes Healthcare & Biotechnology, Industrial Manufacturing, Private Equity, Software & Hardware/Communication.
Alek started in public accounting with Arthur Andersen, followed by corporate finance with $12 billion healthcare and biotechnology company Baxter, and $13 billion manufacturing company GKN. Subsequently, Alek moved into the small to middle market Private Equity space, establishing and operating several PE-backed multi-site portfolio companies, with revenues ranging from $20 to $200 million.
Since 2019, as an Interim CFO and Operating Advisor, Alek has partnered with private equity firms and companies with revenues from $50M to $750M to maximize value. He led the finance function for a $250M publicly traded technology company specializing in network testing and cybersecurity, developing KPIs and dashboards that drove cost reductions and profitability across supply chain, operations, and finance. Alek also spearheaded the financial setup of a cloud computing marketplace startup, establishing its treasury function, asset-based lending facilities, and capital-raising models while conducting due diligence for a future-proof financial reporting system. Additionally, he integrated multiple manufacturers into a private equity portfolio, implementing a NetSuite ERP system and achieving seamless financial operations, enhancing investor returns.
As CFO of Block Midland Group, Alek established five metal stamping and fabricating manufacturers into a $100M private equity-backed portfolio company. He reduced operating costs by optimizing manufacturing processes, shifting assembly to Mexico, and implementing just-in-time inventory, while leading the rollout of an Epicor ERP system.
As VP Finance/CFO at Precision Product Group, Alek managed a $65M business unit manufacturing gears and aerospace equipment. He improved cash conversion cycles by seven days, reduced inventory turns through just-in-time systems, and integrated two acquired plants, implementing a unified ERP system to drive operational efficiency and investor returns.
At GKN Land Systems, Alek served as Regional Finance Director for North and South American operations, overseeing nine agriculture and automotive plants with $13B in revenue. He enhanced cash flow through supplier and customer payment term optimizations and led the financial integration of a new manufacturing facility in Brazil.
At Baxter BioScience, Alek managed a $4B business, reducing budgeting cycles by over 50% using Six Sigma methodologies, managing $500M in capital expenditures, and leading due diligence for four M&A transactions. His career began at Arthur Andersen (1997–2001), where he developed expertise in financial audits, compliance, and Sarbanes-Oxley frameworks.
