Daniel Morton is a corporate finance and investment banking professional turned CFO, with over 25 years of experience supporting early- and mid-stage companies globally. His work spans technology, telecommunications, cleantech, real estate, and professional services, with hands-on experience across Europe, Silicon Valley, and Asia. Known for his analytical depth and operational precision, Daniel specializes in financial modeling, transaction execution, and strategic finance.
He began his career with Millicom International Cellular, supporting mobile operations across Latin America and Africa and helping raise over US $550 million in debt financing for emerging-market networks. He later joined investment banking in corporate finance with Broadview International and Bryan Garnier & Co in Europe, advising on IPOs, private placements, and cross-border M&A in the TMT and healthcare sectors — and subsequently became CFO of the bank.
At MIT, Daniel led the valuation modeling of autonomous vehicle systems, publishing with MIT on the economic impact of emerging mobility technologies and delivering presentations in the U.S. and Asia on his research findings.
As a CFO and transaction advisor, he has guided dozens of ventures through complex growth and exit events — including one of Southeast Asia’s largest secondary transactions (>$500 million valuation) with GIC as investor. He has structured international option plans, negotiated a successful patent-infringement settlement against Snapchat, and configured and designed Salesforce for 70 global users to increase efficiency.
Today, Daniel serves as Co-Founder and CFO of BuildXLR.ai, an AI-driven real-estate finance platform, and acts as fractional CFO to technology ventures in affective AI and immersive computing. He has also built financial models for climate-risk and renewable-energy projects, supporting grant applications and adaptation strategies for Indigenous Nations and impact-focused startups.
Daniel holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from the University of Michigan, and completed part-time LL.M. coursework in International Tax Law at St. Thomas University.
