Rick is an experienced technology executive (CEO/COO), advisor to companies, and board member to both public and private companies. He has a proven track record in improving, scaling, and exiting tech companies that design and make things, from small businesses to enterprises with $1 billion in revenue.
Rick has a strong P&L orientation, is highly accountable and results oriented. He has outstanding leadership, strategic, and change agent skills. He has particular strengths in transforming companies that design, manufacture and market devices – batteries, water purification devices, laser diode metal cutting tools, solar panels, laser scanners, cameras, pens, etc., into a competitive advantage. He has built and managed factories in the US, Germany and China. He has created joint ventures and partnerships with several international companies. His experience includes negotiating and dealing with US, German, and Chinese government officials around cash grants, loans and loan guarantees for factories he was responsible for building in all three countries. He has led fundraising activities of in excess of $1 billon to enable growth and expansion in the companies for which he has worked. He has routinely diagnosed the factors limiting a company’s ability to perform well, and then implemented steps to correct, whether they be business strategy, product, technology, general business practices or organization/people issues.
