Chuck Goodrich

Chuck Goodrich is a senior operating executive with 30 years of C-suite experience encompassing general management, sales, marketing, and operational roles. He has an extensive background in acquisitions, operating turnarounds (and reducing structural costs), strategic planning, and business development. Chuck has a passion for working with small and medium-sized businesses, having developed business strategies for dozens of owners and decision-makers in the retail, services, healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, and finance sectors.

Turnaround Experience: Chuck was recruited to lead the operating turnaround of North Shore Weeklies, restoring profitability to the $11M company and leading the private equity owners to invest an additional $100M in the business. As the senior operating executive at Community Newspaper Company, he developed the roadmap for a three-year, $21M profitability improvement program. At Herald Media and GateHouse Media, he introduced rigorous product-line profitability reviews and structural cost reductions that yielded expense savings in excess of $20M and significantly greater operational efficiencies.

Sales / Business Development Experience: Chuck has led sales teams as large as 200 employees and ~$80M of revenues. He has generated over $10M in business development initiatives. He is experienced in developing data-driven KPIs, implementing and utilizing CRM systems, evaluating sales talent and processes, introducing new organizational models, improving compensation plans, reducing cost of sales, developing sales strategies for strategic accounts and categories, forecasting, driving new business, and achieving market-share growth.

Acquisitions Experience: Chuck has participated directly in over 25 acquisitions on both the buy and sell side, ranging from small privately-owned companies to complex transactions involving large public companies and private equity firms. He has been involved in financial modeling, due diligence, synergies analysis, capital raises, and operational integration.

Chuck has been a C-level executive of companies backed by major venture capital and private equity investors, including: Fortress Investments, Audax, Weston Presidio, Fidelity Capital, Greylock, Mass Capital Resources and Cerrito Partners.  He is a graduate of Harvard Business School, with a concentration in marketing, and Bowdoin College. He served as President of the Chamber of Commerce for the second-largest economic region in Massachusetts and also as Chairman of a public-private partnership for that region.
