Joe Impellizeri

CFO Consultant

Joe Impellizeri has three decades of global financial leadership, from early stage start-ups to a $300M business within a Fortune 30 market leader.  He serves as a Senior Financial Executive or Chief Financial Officer for diverse venture capital and angel funded emerging businesses. Joe’s industry experience includes: high technology, enterprise software, software-as-a-service (SaaS), pharmaceuticals, media services, and manufacturing.

A trusted business advisor, Joe supports emerging to mid-sized companies with a range of services beyond traditional financial responsibilities.  In all of his companies, he has driven consistent revenue and profit growth by providing key partnership in business strategy, business management and operations support, software contracts/licensing, key customer or vendor negotiations, and of course…fundraising, financial planning, analysis, and core controllership.

Prior to providing CFO services on a consulting basis, Mr. Impellizeri was:

  • Vice President, Finance & Administration, and Treasurer of Wavemark, a SaaS healthcare information technology company;

  • CFO of Marathon Technologies CORP., a privately held, VC funded provider of automated, fault tolerant-class availability solutions for virtual and physical environments;

  • Vice President Finance for PEGASYTEMS (NASDAQ: PEGA), a $100M global provider of business process management software and services;

  • CFO of SYNCRA SYSTEMS, INC., a SaaS provider of supply chain collaboration services for retailers and suppliers.

He also served in a number of positions with COMPAQ – DIGITAL EQUIPMENT CORPORATION, including as (i) CFO of the Federal Systems Business, (ii) Controller for AltaVista, an internet service, and (iii) Finance Manager for the $300M private-label Component OEM business.  While at Digital he also completed an expatriate assignment in northern Mexico leading finance at a $25M module manufacturing plant.

Mr. Impellizeri received his MBA from the Columbia Business School where his concentrations were in International Business, Marketing, and Finance, and his BSBA in Accounting and Finance at Boston University.

Currently he serves on advisory boards and on the board of a small non-profit.
