Paul Zaylor is a strategic, disciplined leader with over 35 years of experience building critical financial infrastructure and teams to support the growth of entrepreneur-owned, private-equity backed, non-profit and public companies alike. His industry experience includes: real estate management, development, and construction, health care, retail, publishing, motion-picture theater operations, and contract dining.

Paul’s breadth of experience allows him to excel at quickly identifying the root cause of difficult problems, implementing cost effective solutions to drive growth and efficiency, and enabling business leaders to make better, more informed decisions. He is an analytical and critical thinker who is skilled in simplifying and communicating complex concepts to multiple audiences.

Some of Paul’s accomplishments as a finance executive include:

• Built the finance and accounting teams and functions from scratch as the first finance hire at CareMatrix, which included a significant construction and development arm and grew to be the third largest assisted living company in the US.
• Designed a scalable financial infrastructure at Unidine, including implementation of a new ERP that enabled its rapid but controlled growth from $80M to $350M.
• Contributed to the successful sale of Unidine to the Compass Group by providing and presenting the supporting financial documentation for simultaneous due diligence and quality of earnings reviews with private equity firms and public companies.
• At NexDine Paul rebuilt the entire financial infrastructure, including a complete revision to the methods and concepts used in preparing the financial statements and budgets to provide accurate P&L data and allow for better decision making. He also created and implemented, among other processes, cash flow and profitability forecasting, neither of which existed when he joined the Company.

Paul is a team player with a reputation for integrity that creates trust with business leaders. His areas of expertise include accounting, finance, reporting, IT, tax, legal, financial planning and analysis, insurance, payroll, and procurement.

Paul earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and an MBA in Finance from Bentley College. Additionally, Paul is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
